Chapter Four

After the cinema, Mark offered to take her home.

She liked that, that he’d asked and not insisted. She knew that some people considered it gentlemanly, even a must, but she’d always felt that people who demanded to know where you lived seemed more than a little creepy.

But Mark had offered, and then suggested paying for a cab if she didn’t feel comfortable.

She felt comfortable, and they clambered into a taxi together.

Billie had spent the entire film curled up next to him, as he’d picked a cinema that had sofas instead of the standard movie chairs, and he’d held her hand and even fed her popcorn. It had been swoonworthy levels of lovely.

He hadn’t kissed her yet though.

“Mark?”

“Yes, Billie?”

“Why haven’t you kissed me yet?”

Light from streetlamps flickered across his face as the car headed down the road, and she saw a half smile dance upon his lips.

“I wasn’t sure that you wanted me to kiss you.”

She nudged him with her shoulder playfully. “I want you to kiss me. Please.”

“Aren’t you a good girl, asking me so nicely?”

Billie squeezed her thighs together, and nodded her head vigorously.

Mark’s chuckle then was low and throaty, and she felt it reverberate all the way down to her clit. He dropped his voice, so the driver couldn’t hear, and leaned forward to whisper in her ear. “You like it when I call you good girl?”

“Yes.” She breathed out the word, feeling almost giddy.

“Well that makes sense, because you’re clearly a very well-behaved little girl indeed.”

Her gasp hitched in her throat, and he swore under his breath before leaning in and capturing her lips with his own. Billie melded her body to his, her arms moving unbidden to fall about his neck, and gave herself over to the kiss.

For a moment, everything stopped. There was nothing in the world but the two of them, hands clasping, stroking, caressing and when he pulled back, she followed him. Yearning for another kiss, the touch of his lips.

The cab pulled up outside her apartment block.

“You can come up, if you like,” Billie said, and kissed him impetuously.

The walk up the flights of stairs felt like it lasted years, but then they were at her door, and she was unlocking it and oh his arms were back round her and he was walking her until her back was flat against the wall and he was kissing her again.

It wasn’t until he kissed her neck though, his mouth and teeth teasing her skin, that she moaned “Daddy”.

The word almost undid him and he buried his face in the nape of her neck and stilled for a moment, muttered words buffering her skin, until she tugged at him to meet her eyes.

“Do you mind? Me calling you Daddy, that is?”

His pupils had dilated, like they were desperate to take in every inch of her, and he gathered her face in his hands and kissed her more gently than she’d ever been kissed. “Oh darling, of course I don’t mind you calling me Daddy.
